Welcome to the Penzance Choral Society website.
Here you will find information about one of the oldest mixed voice Choral
Societies in the country and possibly the most western! Cornwall is
an area with a rich history of choirs and singing and we are proud to
be a part of that. This site contains details of our past, present and
future with our 150th anniversary upon us.
We perform two main concerts a year, one in May and another at Christmas, and we have also sung in local churches at special events.
Rehearsals are held at 7.30pm on Friday evenings at Humphry Davy School, Coombe Road, Penzance. Rehearsals for the next concert start on 9th January 2009.

This Society owes its existence
to the worthy and highly talented Conductor Mr J H Nunn, R.A.M.,
who then obtained the able assistance of a Commitee of gentlemen
headed by Mr T S Bolitho and Mr E H Rodd, who have manifested throughout the kindest interest in its development. January 19th 1859. |
